Whilst experiencing
this personal enjoyment it is intended that members will enter into the spirit
of benevolence and help swell the ‘sheep dip’ coffers to enable the disbursement
of funds, as and when the need arises, locally to whoever or whatever requires
immediate assistance of the nature that we can offer and, is not readily
available by other sources.
The Story so Far
Our donations so far have
included; a number of large holdalls on wheels to the visiting Children from
Chernobyl both to the Blackrod group and a group near Dublin of the Friends of
Chernobyl. Free-standing units to the Children's Opportunity Group at Bolton. A
beautiful trophy to Derek Hayes who is organising a team quiz for charity. Also
5 pint bottles of Black Sheep Ale to the winning team. A major donation to a
local disabled person. An electric rise & recline chair for use by
sufferers of severe arthritis. A caravan & adventure holiday in Cornwall
paid for a disabled child and carer. Toiletries etc. for a disabled party to
use on a visit to Lourdes. Other larger, and smaller, grants have been
made as and when the need locally has
arisen.

Meetings will take place
monthly, second Tuesday, at the Crown Hotel, Horwich which can accommodate this
fine body of men who require good food, good 'ale' and convivial atmosphere.
